Let Banks Continue Their Recovery.

UK Banks hsve made great strides in their efforts to recover from the disasters of 5 years ago.

Lloyds is ready to be returned to full private ownership. Indeed, the process has already begun and could be completed before the end of 2014.A similar process can soon get underway at Royal Bank of Scotland, provided there is no unwanted and unwarranted political intervention.

The other established Banks are also making significant progress towards restoring their fortunes and with them the fortunes of the UK Economy.

The growth of new Banks is another sign of the returning health of the sector. Metro Bank has brought a fresh and unique style to a number of High Streets, joining Virgin and the relaunched TSB in reinvigorating competition and choice.

What the UK Banking Industry needs now is to continue to improve and strengthen. This it can do using the skills and resources that exist in the sector, supported and supervised by the enhanced regulatory structure put in place over the last few years.

Our elected representatives need not concern themselves with further interventions at this stage. They are not needed and would only serve to detract and distract from the on-going and sensibly-paced progress that can already be clearly seen in the marketplace.
