Cash in the Attic

We've all heard of those lucky people who have a mass clear-out of all their household "junk" only to find that they were sitting on a veritable treasure trove of priceless artifacts that can then be sold at auction for a small fotune.

While we can all dream that our 25-year-old dinner platter is really a gold-plated antique once used by kings and queens of old, the reality is often far less exciting.

However, with the spring months already upon us, we at Cash-is-Cool think it's the perfect time to blitz your home and rid yourself of all those rather useless items that have done nothing but gather dust for the past few years.

And why are we encouraging you to embrace the traditional "spring clean"? To make cash of course!

What you see as junk, another will view as treasure and - while it might not make you rich overnight - selling off unwanted items at cash-friendly events like car boot sales or fetes and fairs can provide you with some extra savings for a rainy day.

Keep your car-boot cash saved up at home and we think you'll be surprised at just how quickly you can "cash in" on something special, be it a nice meal out, a fun family activity or just paying off any extra debts that have been hanging over your head.

We would love to hear how you get on with your cash in the attic quest - comment below or tweet us @Cash_is_cool and update us on your progress!
